Welcome to Divine Seal! This site is just an expression of my obsession with Valkyrie Profile - I won't promise accuracy, and my opinions are everywhere, but there's plenty to keep everyone busy. I'm just trying to provide a general resource for all things VP, from game information to fan work, and I hope it serves its purpose well. The site is still unfinished, but I'll get around to completing it eventually! April 13, 2008: Well, isn't this precious. Almost a year. :D I've been posting translations of the Material Collection at my journal. It's slow going, with school and all - vacations are the only time I'm able to do anything with the book. Updates are on hold for the same reason. April 29, 2007: Hi, all! Another progress report, and less than a year after the last update, too. Looking good. :P School is sucking all of my time away right now. You probably assumed that, since the last update was so long ago, but I thought I should say something. I haven't completely abandoned the site, but it will be a while before I can do anything about it. Last summer I started translating parts of the VP Material Collection for practice. I plan to continue once vacation starts and put that information on the site. As for VP Silmeria, I'm undecided on what to do about it yet. The site needs a redesign anyway; adding Silmeria would demand some major reconstruction in the character section, at the least. Neither can be done with classes going on, but I'll see what I can do in June. Arcana (creator of IoM in the fan section) was going to help me with the redesign and restructure of the site, but he's also getting pretty busy. Plans may have to change. Eventually there WILL be a real update. :P I started this site when I actually had time to do fan stuff, but nowadays... well, it isn't happening. Thanks to everyone who has contacted me via email to offer help or suggestions, or just praise. I do appreciate it, and hope I can get the site back on its feet again for those of you still visiting. July 16, 2006: Progress report. :D My project was a little delayed, but I've finally started working on the character section of the VP Material Collection - that information will be featured whenever it's done, and I may post prelim translations on my journal for error correction. Hell, I might even make a new journal just for that. Also, I wrote up a spoiler-free impression of Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria here, which focuses mainly on the gameplay (battle system, dungeons and towns, etc.). I'll be working on character profiles from the game as well, but none of that will be featured on the site until after the game's release in the US. I might post it in separate entries along with the Material Collection prelims, but I haven't decided yet. I get what's going on, but some of the details still fly over my head as I am not, sadly, fluent in the language yet. Don't worry, spoilers will always be marked when they appear. This is a great game in my opinion, and I don't want it to be ruined for anybody. It deserves to be experienced as it was meant to be. March 22, 2006: This is more of a service announcement than anything, so don't get excited. :p Since updates to this site are already glacially slow, you probably won't notice a difference, but... further updates might be put off until Arcana and I can have a completely new site online. This will have to wait until summer vacation since we're both very busy during the semester period for different reasons, but it might eventually get done. =D The idea is to set up a site that's a bit more automated so it's easier to make updates. That might also give me time to work on petty details like mythology and translation that I've been putting off for way too long. I need the Japanese practice anyway. If by some miracle I have updates between now and then, they will be made. The site will remain open, et cetera. Submissions and other email is still more than welcome. If and when the site is revamped it will be at this address, or there will be a foreward to a new one. Anyway, there you go. I have all sorts of grand ideas, so let's see if I can put them in action Addendum: Occasionally, news about progress of the site will be posted here. Polls, questions, etc. about visitor preferences for the site will also be posted. February 25, 2006: I neglect this poor site so much. I do love it, really. ;_; So anyway, today's update is all about fan work. There's a new section under Illusion of Memory called IoM GAIDEN Ultima Mayu sent us some fan art of Lenneth in traditional Korean garb, and that's up in the fan art section. Other than that, I'm thinking about doing a lot of stuff, but not really doing it. Everyone already knew that. ^^; But I have a Guardian Angels update to manage as well, so that should be done first. Then, back to procrastinating! Maybe I'll change the images or something before I go. See previous update notes. If you'd like to submit something, please do! |
