Arngrim Age: 26 Race: Human Birthplace: Artolia Gender: Male Class: Mercenary Battle orientation: Swordsman Arngrim is a mercenary through and through. They call him a genius on the battlefield, and his eagerness to fight defines his character, at least in the eyes of others. There is a heart under his gruff exterior, and we see it at home, with his brother - he works hard to support Roland, even if he doesn't quite understand him. He also has friends in Kashell, Celia, Aelia, and Lawfer, but it looks like he's broken away from the group by the time of the game. Unlike most mercenaries, however, Arngrim thinks past the money and the job. He has an unusual sense of honor - not just any guy would have gone after Lombert in the name of a spoiled princess who wanted him dead, after all. (That takes a special kind of fool. ^.^) He didn't seem very upset at the prospect of spending an eternity with her, for that matter... but that's another theory altogether. He commits suicide in order to follow Valkyrie, but Freya deems him unworthy for Valhalla. Maybe he doesn't have a true hero's spirit, but that hasn't stopped the valkyries before; Hrist reveals later that she also chose Arngrim (an earlier incarnation) to follow her one thousand years ago, and there seemed to be no problem then. ^.^ I think he's better suited for Hrist and her methods, but he doesn't seem to think so during the A ending.
