Lezard Valeth Age: 24 Race: Human Birthplace: Flenceburg Gender: Male Class: Necromancer Battle orientation: Magic He's the only character with a last name! (No, really. ^.^) Lezard is a crazy, mad-scientist type of character. He's incredibly intelligent and powerful (and very nerdy), and even Lorenta still calls him the most brilliant pupil she ever had - in short, he has power, the will to use it, and the lack of conscience he needs to achieve his goals. He wasn't always so powerful. Like many, he started his career in magic at the Flenceburg Sorcery Academy, where he had the dubious priviledge of sharing a class with Mystina. the two didn't get along very well - or if they did, it didn't last. They were the elite of Lorenta's class, but Lezard simply wasn't satisfied with what the academy had to offer, and he risked everything to start looking into the dark arts. When he was caught Lorenta expelled him, and he was left to his own devices. Somewhere between his school days and the beginning of the game, Lezard stumbled across the legendary Philosopher's Stone. But it doesn't really matter why or how; when he finally figured out how to access the Stone's knowledge, he became the most dangerous human on Midgard. It told him all about the gods and the nine worlds, and the elves, and from this information, he devised a way to elevate himself to godhood - and a way to confine the gods, in return. The game doesn't go into how Lezard found - or fell in love with - Lenneth, but the manga has a story to offer: during his dealings with Lombert in Artolia, he witnessed Valkyrie's arrival and Arngrim's eventual death, and discovered her that way. He looked quite thrilled. ^.^ Perhaps this is when he began studying in ernest. He made a habit of stealing elves from the Forest of Spirits for his experiments, and managed to create several man-made constructs and a few vessels to host Lenneth's spirit - because of course, she would come to him eventually. Obsession doesn't lie. To speed that event along, he arranged the deaths of Lorenta and her husband atop his tower. It worked, but it brought him a very angry valkyrie. ^.^ Not long after that he decided to off Mystina as well, just to be sure he had eradicated all threats, and then he disappeared. He reappears again during the events of the A ending, and although it's obvious he's helping for his own reasons... at least he gets the job done. ^.^ And he still doesn't admit defeat where Lenneth is concerned. He's probably going to chase her forever. Voice: English Alternate Romanization: Rezado |
