Shiho Age: 21 Race: Human Birthplace: Hai-Lan/Wakoku Gender: Female Class: Sorceress Battle orientation: Magic During her life, Shiho was one of Hai-Lan's song maidens, trained from birth to use her voice as a driving force to keep the soldiers motivated during battle. This infamous career earned her the respect of the military, but hate and ridicule from everyone else. She was often the target of viscious rumors, and most of the townspeople blamed her for the deaths of their family and friends in the war. In addition to the misfortune her career as a song maiden brought her, Shiho was also blind. Unable to escape either the endless darkness or the hostility of her neighbors, Shiho finally gave up and stopped singing in the middle of a battle, bringing about the events that led to her death. Although I can't find any information on "song maidens" just yet, I do have a few ideas to put forth about the story itself: mainly about Suo, of course. ^.^ A question I've asked is, "Did she go with him because she wanted to die, or because he gave her some hope?" (Yes, I'm a nut. So?) The obvious explanation is that she just wanted to die, and she figured that going with Suo back to his camp was the best way to do it, but... there is a tiny bit of implication that she trusted him.
